About Us
The Plant Biotechnology Facility serves as a resource for research and teaching of plant tissue culture and genetic engineering. The Facility provides equipment, expertise, and biological materials to individuals and groups who wish to use cultured plant cells and tissues and to produce transgenic plants. Basic and applied research projects are ongoing in laboratories of the Plant Biotechnology Facility.
Two service units are under the direction of the Plant Biotechnology Facility: the ABL Plant Tissue Culture Unit, and the Transgenic Plant Unit, a molecular biology laboratory that uses transgenics for the genetic modification of plants.
